Mar 18, 2024 - Naples / Capri (Sorrento), Italy

Most of our travel companions went to Amalfi Coast today.  We visited Amalfi in 2019, therefore we decided to revisit Capri.  Last time we were in Capri, we did not see much, therefore, we decided to join a tour to see more of Capri this time.  We chose Capri, Anacapri and Blue Grotto in a Day Trip - small group operated by Tours of Capri.  The attractions covered by this tour are Blue Grotto, Anacapri, and Monte Solaro.

The Blue Grotto is a sea cave on the coast of the island of Capri. Sunlight shining through an underwater cavity is reflected back upward through the seawater below the cavern, giving the water a blue glow that illuminates the cavern. To get inside of Blue Grotto, you need to transfer to a small canoe and duck down when you enter through a very small cave's entry point.  If weather is not corporate, then there is no entry.  We were extremely lucky that water was clam on that day and we were able to get inside the grotto.  It was a magical moment and definitely

another highlight of this trip.

Then, we drove up to Anacapri and Monte Solaro.  We did some shopping in Anacapri and walked to Cilla San Michele to have the most wonderful view of Capri Port.

We were wishing we could take the chairlift to the peak of Monte Solaro which is the highest point of the island.  Unfortunately, it was very cloudy when we got there.

Then, our guide took us to Gardens of Augustus to see Faraglioni which is made up of three distinct jutting rocks that emerge from the sea.

Tonight we had dinner at one of Sun Princess’ specialty restaurant "The Catch by Rudi".  Fei had King Prawn and I had Lobster. This was the 1st time we had seen King Prawn, it was bigger in size than the lobster.  Their desert and appetizer were all great. The desert was soufflé and it was so big which could be a serve for 4 people. We had a wonderful time.
